Scaffolder EFZ

As a scaffolder, you ensure a secure grip on every construction site — with technology, strength and responsibility.

What does a scaffolder do? Tasks, education, pay and career opportunities

Scaffolders create the basis for safe work on construction. They build, secure and dismantle scaffolding for high-rise, underground and special buildings — precisely, physically fit and with a clear eye for safety. Your craft is crucial so that other professions can work at all. The job requires strength, technology and teamwork — with responsibility of every level.

Responsibilities of scaffolders — What does this include?

Scaffolders work all over the construction site — and often beyond. They plan, assemble and test structures on which work, build or renovate.

Central activities:

  • Assembly, securing and dismantling of façade, room and suspended scaffolding
  • Installation of elevators, stair towers and weatherproof roofs
  • Stability and safety monitoring in accordance with standards
  • Material transportation, warehouse management and logistics
  • use of modern mounting systems and special scaffolding
  • Cooperation with construction managers, roofers, painters or façade builders

Scaffolders combine strength with intelligence — they are responsible for safety, precision and efficiency on every construction site.
